According to a recent study, properly-insulated homes use
half the energy of those without insulation. Installed in walls,
ceilings, floors and around the foundations, insulation, made from mineral
fiber or cellulose, keeps the heat from escaping in the winter and from
entering the home in the summer.

Adding insulation to your un-insulated attic is the most
cost-effective energy-saving measure you can do.
Most older houses were built with little or no insulation. Typical framed
homes now being built in California's Central Valley must meet minimum
insulation requirements of R-38 insulation in ceilings, and R-19 for walls and
floors.
The "R"-value in insulation designates its resistance to heat flow.
The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating ability. By installing
insulation with a value higher than the minimum requirements, the energy
efficiency and comfort of a home can be greatly increased.
